2016 Design Trends Reflect Sensory Six Philosophy
What does 2016 have in store for us in terms of design trends? Here are four top trends for 2016:
Trend #1: Go Natural
Organic shapes and textures along with warm metals can be found in accessories and furniture. For metals, cooper and bronze continue to increase in popularity. And natural textures can be found throughout the home and workplace.
Trend #2: Bring Outside In
You can find greenery on walls and accessories throughout homes and offices as people seek to bring nature into every aspect of their lives. This even includes purchasing furniture that can be used indoors and outdoors. Additionally, outside spaces continue to be an extension of the interior with an integration of outside and inside. One of the major places you will see this is the continued focus on natural lighting.
Trend #3: Support the Artists
Designers are using more locally made and globally crafted artisan rugs, furniture and accessories. People are mixing vintage and artisanal items with mass produced goods to create interesting spaces that reflect their personal taste. One of the areas we are most excited about is artisan crafted lighting which we installed in several homes and restaurants this year.
Trend #4: Live A Sustainable Life
Sustainability is at the heart of everything that is being manufactured today. Consumers and business people are looking closely at recycle, repurpose, reinvent and reuse of everything that goes into creating a distinctive space.
We’re excited to see that many of these trends reflect the philosophy of Sensory Six. Natural, calming, luxurious and distinctive – these are the words we use to describe the design style we call 21st Century Zen
