Nanotech Materials for Countertops

Granite has long been preferred for high-end countertops.  But exciting new nanotech materials are coming to the forefront, and they offer an interesting alternative.

Nanotechnology is changing the world we live in, even in design-build applications. One product using nanotechnology is Fenix NTM.  This countertop material is composed of craft paper impregnated with thermosetting resins.

The result is a highly durable material that is very resistant to scratches, abrasion, rubbing, dry heat, stress and solvents. Its surface is hygienic and easy to clean because of its enhanced anti-bacterial properties. Fenix NTM is also water repellant and mold resistant.

From a design perspective, it has depth of color and is anti-reflective.  And one of its very unusual features is that it is soft to the touch. This level of aesthetics, durability and softness makes it an intriguing material for homeowners and facilities managers.

One added feature attracting high interest is that Fenix NTM countertops are self-healing.  To repair a scratch, just place a damp paper towel over the affected area and pass over the scratch with a hot iron. The countertop will look brand new again.
