Preparing Your Home for Spring & Summer

Spring is the perfect time to refresh and rejuvenate your home. Waving goodbye to Winter sparks feelings of inspiration, joy, and excitement. It's also a time when we see new trends emerge into the design world! Trends like adding interest and airiness to your home, mashing up different colors, patterns, and textures, and creating layers of style and personality. Whether you’re envisioning a complete overhaul or just looking to spruce things up, Sensory Six is here and happy to help incorporate these design elements into your living space to keep your home feeling fresh and current.

Color & Texture

What’s out? Monochromatic designs. What’s in? Mixed colors, patterns, and materials.

What better way to start the new season than with the promise of inviting colors, textures and patterns? At Sensory Six, we believe living spaces should be in harmony with all our senses. By incorporating a mix of textures, like combining smooth concrete floors with linen wallpaper or a wool fabric couch with accents pillows, you are left with a vibrant sense of dimension. Adding color and texture to your home is easy! We love including art pieces that instantly change the vibe of the room and create a more elevated space. Our home designs incorporate a sense of color, texture, lighting and art that will delight all SIX of your senses.

Kitchen Counters

What’s out? Thick stone countertops. What’s in? Thin stone countertops.

As the warmer weather rolls in, we’re shedding a few layers both in our wardrobes and in our kitchens! Homeowners are now opting for thin countertops in their kitchen to make their home feel lighter. These thin, three-quarter-inch countertops are the newest trend this season. Why? They vary in look from pure white, quartz, and concrete, to faux premium Italian marble. All these options leave you with a unique way to approach a kitchen staple… at about half the thickness.

Metallic Accents

What’s out? All-black metal accents. What’s in? Mixed metals.

We’re saying goodbye to all-black and welcoming a refined mix of metals! Using a mix of metals creates a warm or cool tone that will give your living space a more refined and luxurious vibe. At Sensory Six, we specialize in creating spaces that are elegant, luxe, and have a simple style. Are you in need of an update? We use our “21st Century Zen™” design philosophy to create homes that are modern, organic and sophisticated. Based on a thorough assessment of your wants and needs, we can best choose what sleek and metallic designs to incorporate into your home.

Bathroom Decor

What’s out? Busy bathroom designs. What’s in? Minimalist bathroom designs.

The transition from maximalist to minimalist will not only leave you with understated elegance, but will also visually enlarge the space. Whether you use one color throughout the bathroom, various texture tiles, patterns, or sizes, or full stone slabs, a simple design style is exactly what you’re craving this season. Looking to give your bathroom a complete refresh? We recommend matching marble stone across the floors and walls. Or, if you are looking for just a small update, we recommend incorporating marble and metallic accents with your bathroom sink accessories. The small details of your bathroom matter! Each works together to create a harmonious space meant to relax and soothe you.

We are excited to give your home the proper Spring refresh! Creating a living space that is perfect in both form and function and a place you will love to spend time in. Whether you want to renovate your whole house or update a few rooms, we would love to work with you to design a Spring sanctuary! If you have a project in mind, please contact us at info@SensorySix.com or (518) 306-1099. We would love to help you fulfill your vision and share our own.
